Qubed is a puzzle game collection for the Xbox 360 gaming system, developed by Q Entertainment. The games were originally released separately for the PlayStation gaming platforms, and had been previously available for individual purchase from the Xbox Live service.

Gameplay[ | ]

Qubed comprises three separate games: "Rez", "Lumines" and "Every Extend Extra", all of which incorporate rhythm into the gameplay.

Rez[ | ]

Main article: Rez

"Rez" is a rail shooter in which the user's character shoots at upcoming obstacles. The game incorporates rhythm in that the player must shoot the obstacles in rhythm with the accompanying soundtrack in order to score.

Lumines[ | ]

Main article: Lumines

"Lumines" is a puzzle game in which the player must arrange falling blocks in to larger color areas. The rhythm element comes into play in the timing with which the areas must be completed.

Every Extend Extra[ | ]

"Every Extend Extra" is also a puzzle game, the object of which is to set off detonations at an optimum time to destroy the most targets, which move in the gameplay area in rhythm with the accompanying soundtrack. Every Extend Extra supports both single-player and multi-player modes.

Production[ | ]

Q Entertainment is noted for creating games that combine rhythm, color and classic gameplay. Q Entertainment's founder, Tetsuya Mizuguchi previously worked as creative lead for Sega's United Game Artists studio, where he build a reputation for creating music-based games.
