SimCity DS was released on February 22, 2007 in Japan. The game inherits SimCity 3000's graphics, but makes use of the handheld's dual screen to display additional interfaces at once. System-specific features were also announced, such as the use of the systems' integrated microphone, which is used to blow out fires. It was released in North America on June 19, 2007 and in Europe on June 22, 2007.
