Space Battle is a game released for the Intellivision. It was later ported to the Atari 2600 as Space Attack.

Gameplay[ | ]

Five alien fleets of different sizes are attacking your mothership, and it's up to you to defend it using your three squadrons. Alien ships will dodge your attacks and will attack you with photon blasts.

There are two game modes; Radar Mode, which is more strategy, and Battle Mode, which is all out action. In Radar Mode, select which of the three squadrons you have on hand to go after the selected alien fleet, or recall those that are finished from a battle back to base. In Battle Mode, use your target tracker to aim at the alien ships.

Notes[ | ]

The game was originally designed for the purpose of carrying the license to the Battlestar Galactica TV series that was airing at the time.

An adapted version of this game was made for TV game shows like TV Pixxx on New York City's Channel 11 independent station, where callers say "Pow!" to fire lasers at the ships when they enter into the target sight in the middle of the screen. This would later be included as one of the mini-games in Sharp Shot.
