Streets of War: Metro-Active X (aka Metro-Active X) is a bootlegged video game by Metrostar from a beat' em up video game Project X: Love Potion Disaster. The game runs on only OpenBOR, and there's no record of it working on any other platform.

Arcade Version[ | ]

In Japan this version got its unique name Streets of War: City Stage (jp. 市の操作 ~下道Stage!!~)

This version contains only three stages because of three characters and visuals:

  • Sky Fortress
  • Leaf Forest
  • Empire City (A hint for NFS High Stakes)

The music was mostly a conversion of music from other games and some of tracks used in another games.

Characters of Arcade Version[ | ]

This version of the game contains only three main characters:

  • Zeta R-02 (echidna)
  • Cynthia (human)
  • Miguelle "Overbent" Rodriguez (robot)

However only Zeta R-02 left in another versions of the video game.

NEC PC-88/ZX Spectrum version[ | ]

PC/Playstation 2 version[ | ]

The PS2 version uses Metro16 engine to launch the arcade-based video game data. This version contains different characters, e.g. Amy Rose and Rouge The Bat from Sonic The Hedgehog series, and different levels, e.g. added "Atlantis Ruins" and "The Lost World". Zeta R-02 remains untouched, but Cynthia and Overbent were removed from PS2 version. Soundtrack was also changed because of copyright issues. The PC version uses OpenBOR engine instead Metro16. However the rare Metro16 engine port for PC that can launch the game exists.

As the North American/European version for PC is still in demo state, however the Japanese version is fully working release.

J2ME (Mobile) version[ | ]

An attemption to porting the game to mobile phones was done by Playrix Entertainment in 2005. The prototype version contains only one character (R-02 Zeta) and only two music tracks badly converted to MIDI from original FM Synth sources. The game didn't get any move for further development and the project was abandoned.
