WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 is the latest installment of the WWE Smackdown vs. Raw franchise. It is available for all current generation consoles, as well as the PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable (This is also the last WWE game for the PS2 and PSP).

Gameplay[ | ]

Gameplay is similar to that of previous Smackdown Vs. Raw games. You choose a wrestler from the roster and fight in arenas in different match types such as One vs One, Tag, Ladder, Hell in the Cell, Elimination Chamber, Inferno Match, etc.

The weapons system has been improved dramatically, offering new places to put weapons for more chaos/destruction. They can also be thrown at opponents. The grappling system has also been revamped. When you grapple a groggy opponent, your wrestler will automatically do a different move then while standing. Some moves you can even control the direction of.

Some moves allow you to go for a "Pin combo" which, if the move connects, will automatically put you in a pinning position.

Modes[ | ]

A New mode called "WWE Universe" is new to the Smackdown vs. Raw franchise. Everything you do will affect everything that happens in the game. Rivalaries and Friendships will form. Stables will now disband/form whenever a wrestler's relationship gets better/worsens. 100+ cutscenes have been added to this mode, so there will always be something new! You can access this mode directly, by scheduling/simulating matches or you could just play an Exhibition match where it will take the place of what is scheduled.

Road to Wrestlemania has been brought back, featuring an all new backstage access where your wrestler can interact with other wrestlers, participate in backstage brawls, do mini-quests, build your wrestlers stats, etc. 5 new stories include: John Cena, Christian, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio and Vs. Undertaker (which you can choose from Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, John Morrison, R-Truth, or a created wrestler).

Playing online has been changed as well. Up to twelve players can now participate in a 12-Man Battle Royal Rumble match.

A match creator has also been added in, for those who like to spice up their matches with enhances.

Story designer returns, and is now even bigger, and better than is predescestor. New cutscenes, announcer voices, entrance music, support for 15 wrestlers have all been included. It's your WWE Universe, how will you play?

Roster[ | ]

The Roster includes the current (2010) up to date roster for both Smackdown, Raw, and ECW. Legends, Divas, and CAWs are also featured in this game.

Soundtrack[ | ]

There is no official Soundtrack in Smackdown Vs. Raw 2011. Wrestler's theme songs play during loading screens/menu selection. Players can upload saved playlists from their Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 to play for entrance music of their CAWs.
